Our artisans
In the age where machines churn out yards of fabric, we are still in love with slow and sustainable practices block printing being one of them.
The process of block printing is created by hand with skill and care which makes it very unique. The technique has evolved over time but most of the methods remain the same. Each block printed fabric has its own unique story, the hand craft and process in unlike a factory printed product, with fascinating little imperfections that cannot be replaced by any machine.
Meet our block maker Alan, he is a true genius and has been doing it for years. He makes all our dreams come true. A block can take anywhere between 3 days to a week to make but is definitely worth the wait due to the quality of our products.
Block printing is the heart of what we do and we take pride in supporting small families who are trying to keep this dying art alive.
Meet Pawan the younger of two brothers, who looks after our printing and his wife who looks after us with plenty of tea supplies. It is amazing to watch the precision and calculations without any equipment just the naked eye and experience.
Pawan has two adorable kids who are a part of new tech generation and when I ask them what they would like to be when they grow up it’s either a teacher or engineer and rightly so because every child should get a fair chance on their own journeys in life.
We are in our infancy stage with a passionate goal to support artisans and their families, while bringing some soul and story telling to our textiles.
We are miles away from our goal but our journey continues and with your love and support we have no doubt we will get there…
